We are currently seeking a Warehouse Associate to support their local distribution center. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential for the right candidate.
Position Summary:
The Warehouse Associate will be responsible for supporting day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping. This role requires a focus on safety, accuracy, and teamwork to ensure timely and efficient customer deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving and Inventory:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify accuracy against purchase orders.
- Inspect materials for damage or shortages.
- Distribute products to appropriate stock locations.
- Maintain organized inventory and update tagging as needed.
- Participate in inventory counts and report discrepancies.
Order Fulfillment and Shipping:
- Pull, stage, and load customer orders for pickup or delivery.
- Pack and prepare outbound shipments.
- Assist with truck loading/unloading as needed.
- Ensure all products are properly tagged and stored.
Safety and Maintenance:
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts) safely and efficiently.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
Customer Service Support:
- Occasionally assist at the front counter with order entry, pickups, or returns.
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers to ensure service expectations are met.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift/move up to 100 lbs.
- Regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Work may be performed in varying temperatures depending on the season.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, or distribution experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.
