Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a respected local nonprofit organization in the Morgantown area to hire a Staff Accountant. Position Overview
The Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting operations of a nonprofit organization, assisting with financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting support, and compliance. This role works closely with leadership and plays a key part in maintaining strong financial controls.
Key Responsibilities

Perform general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliations

Assist with month-end and year-end close processes

Support preparation of financial statements and internal reports

Process accounts payable and receivable as needed

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and internal controls

Support audits and provide documentation as requested

Maintain organized and accurate financial records
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
-
2+ years of accounting experience (nonprofit experience is a plus, not required)

Strong understanding of GAAP

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

High attention to detail with strong organizational skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment
