Job Full Description
Position title: Machine Operator
Location: Mauston
Shifts/Wage:
- 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 3pm-11pm. $19.00/hour
Job Duties:
- Obtain tools, gauges, and fixtures, set up and make adjustments to perform a normal range of operations on standard, automatic, tape, or computer numerically controlled production machines.
- Adjust and align holding fixtures, block and secure unusual shaped parts into holding device, and select speeds and feeds according to material characteristics and finish requirements.
- Perform first piece inspection.
- Load parts into jigs, fixtures, or between centers, load raw material into machine feed system or holding devices.
- Drill, tap, bore, counterbore, turn, face, thread, chamfer, mill, ream, slot, and similar operations to close tolerances.
- Check tools for damage, evaluate and report needed repairs, replace broken and dull tools, and make required adjustments.
- Periodically inspect parts to maintain specifications and quality standards.
- Operate several machines simultaneously as directed. 9. Monitor and maintain all mini and kitted tool cribs.
- Notify supervisor of unusual equipment or operating problems.
- Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Work in other cells or departments as required.
- Complete Setter Operator training.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED and 1+ years of material handling experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions, specifications, drawings, diagrams, and other correspondence. Ability to communicate with other associates to share information, solve problems, and train.
- Mathematical Skills: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, including decimals and fractions. Simple reference use of pick and packing lists, confirmations, and location sheets. Use adjustable measuring instruments such as weigh scale and tape measure, where interpretation is required.
- The associate is occasionally required to reach above the shoulders, and lift and/or move 35 to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity and depth perception.
