Express is actively recruiting a Lead Maintenance Technician for a well-established property management company in Madison. This is an evaluation-to-hire opportunity ideal for a skilled maintenance professional ready to step into a leadership role and grow with the company.
Position Overview:
The Lead Maintenance Technician will be responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations, coordinating work with team members and vendors, and ensuring that all apartment units, construction projects, and common areas are maintained to high standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and support maintenance staff

Perform maintenance tasks: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, and general construction

Assist with unit turnarounds and ongoing construction (40+ units under renovation)

Coordinate and inspect vendor work

Maintain inventory and order supplies
-
Handle work orders, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs

Maintain accurate documentation in property management software

Comply with OSHA and safety protocols

Participate in on-call rotation

Snow/ice removal as needed
Requirements:
-
3+ years of maintenance experience in residential, commercial, or hotel settings
-
1+ year of supervisory or lead experience

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Strong skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repair (HVAC certification preferred or willingness to obtain)

Pool maintenance and CPO certification a plus

Excellent communication and leadership skills
-
Hotel or multifamily property maintenance experience is a bonus
