    Payroll Manager

    Our client located Downtown Edmonton is seeking a Payroll Manager to join their team and administer full-cycle payroll for a multi-company organization with over 350 employees.   

     Job Highlights:

    • Review paperwork for new employees and ensure employee information is updated into payroll system
    • Record employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, and terminations to maintain and update payroll records including administration of employee benefits
    • Generate reports to support statistical analysis related to employee time, production, pay and benefits information
    • Ensure compliance with CRA, applicable government policies, guidelines and legislation, pension plan requirements are maintained
    • Answer employee queries related to payroll matters, tax issues, and benefit plans

    Financial Analyst

    A local South Edmonton client is searching for a Contract Financial Analyst Our client is an Edmonton based Association.

    Financial Analyst Pay:  $28/hour - $31/hour

    Financial Analyst Duties:

    • Accounts Receivable. Daily balancing, refund creations/reviews, invoicing, corrections to CRM and accounting entries, review of AR transactions.   Collections and payment follow-ups. Investigating any discrepancies and processing corrections
    • Registration's support. Answering general questions, fixing issues, processing manual corrections for client services issues. Provide assistance to inventory team for any questions or issues within SAGE, how to do certain entries, and new procedures related to changes within SAGE or the web store. Assist with count discrepancies and any investigations.  Assisting Registrations with various phone inquiries.
    • Supporting functions. Invoicing, course creations, emailing and following up with customers for additional payments as necessary.   Back up for accounts payable when required.  Interim back up for Manager, Finance and Accounting when required.
    • Month end functions. Prepaid balancing, revenue /deferred revenue entries, balance sheet items and course costing. Verify all internal usage entries are done, and support to inventory team regarding adjusting entries.
    • Prepare all GST return entries and adjustments to sales and revenue to account for non-taxable inputs-outputs. Process journal entry through the GL for payment.  Monthly analysis to substantiate amounts.
    • Special projects related to accounting including inventory management, fixed asset accounting, investigation into changes within system and recommendations for improved efficiency.
    • Systems support. Liaise with external vendor for SAGE and CRM.  Troubleshoots systems problems.  Training for other areas of accounting department.  Provide first level support and guidance to other positions assisting with navigation of job function and system use.   
    • General ledger review and clean up at month end.
    • Help prepare monthly and yearly financial reports. Help to review and prepare annual budget and upload to SAGE.
    • Credit notes. Email refund receipts.
    • Confidential Information. Protect against the unauthorized disclosure of confidential information.  Handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner.   Consult with the Manager, Finance and Accounting for confirmation when in doubt.
    • Updating and Maintaining Processes. Document processes to ensure everyone understands them and knows who to contact when there is a problem, or a change is needed. Clear documentation enables the process to continue as designed, and changes can be made in a timely, straightforward manner.

    Financial Analyst Qualifications:

    • Education: Post-secondary diploma/certificate in accounting or related field. 

     

    • Experience: 3 - 5 years of related experience

          We have partnered with an industry leader in Distribution, who is seeking an Accountant  for the Finance team. This is a remote based role with opportunities to work in Edmonton or from Calgary.  

          This position works closely with the Controller, AP team in Edmonton and AR team in Calgary. In conjunction to managing full cycle accounting functions and preparing financial reports.

          Job Highlights: 

          • Assist with preparation of financial statements, trial balances, income statements, profit and loss, and other operational reports directed by Leadership team
          • Preparation of monthly reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliations, journal entries and other ad hocs.
          • Compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) regulation
          • Investigating discrepancies to resolve and implement action plans to avoid errors going forward
          • Other tasks as assigned

          What we look for:

          • Experience with SAGE 50 and/or JD Edwards
          • Diploma or Degree in Accounting/Finance
          • Pursuing CPA designation is an asset
          • Minimum 2 years of full cycle accounting experience
          • Strong communication skills
          • Detail oriented and high attention to detail

           

          Hours & Compensation:

          • Monday-Friday; 8:00AM - 4:30PM
          • $65,000/year - $70,000/year
          • Work From Home, Remote- Full Time, Permanent

          Accounts Payable Specialist Highlights: 

          • Perform past-due account and collecting by phone and in writing.
          • Full cycle Accounts Payable.
          • Send and receiving invoices when required (matching, batching and coding).
          • Maintain an accurate and complete trial of supporting documentation for all financial and bookkeeping activities.
          • Additional administrative tasks as required.

          What we look for:

          Our Edmonton client is looking for a  Sr. Director of Real Estate Finance   who is primarily responsible to help grow the company's market share in the Alberta real estate market and secondary markets in Western and Eastern Canada. Emphasis will be on origination and structuring of loan opportunities between borrowers and lenders.
