Express Employment Professionals first began operation in San Antonio in 1984 as Express Personnel Services. The Northeast office opened its doors in 2004, and came under new ownership in 2013. The owners, Jeff and Kay Meyer work in the business every day providing guidance, support and stability to the business.
This office serves Northeast Bexar County which includes Northeast San Antonio, Selma, Universal City, Schertz, Live Oak, Kirby, Converse and Windcrest with temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct hire employees in a variety of fields including Office Services, Skilled Trades, Light Industrial, Accounting and Finance, Customer Service, HR, Medical Office, Manufacturing, and Information Technology.
2022 continues the trends started by the pandemic of 2020 and 2021.. Our office had 95 associates go permanent with 41 different companies in 2021. Our 2nd best year ever. Despite unemployment rates that are running near 3%, there is an obvious shortage of available talent or labor for jobs. Several reports identify that there are at least two job openings for evert person looking for work. Fiscal incentives to stay on the sidelines along with obstacles left over from the pandemic have generated an Employees market. Compounded by a staggering increase in demand and logistical supply breakdowns, companies are faced with pressure to increase wages and/or benefits to stay competitive in the market. On the worker side, wage increases and market conditions have generated inflation that is negating some or most of the wage increases. The question is how long will this last. Regardless of the employment conditions, Express continues to excel by finding good jobs for our associates while finding good people for our client companies.
