??? Lead Restoration Technician — Water & Fire Damage

?? Job Summary

Lead and execute complex water and fire damage mitigation projects. Guide and mentor technicians, engage with clients and insurers, ensure IICRC standards are met, and uphold quality and safety across job sites.


?? Core Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership & On-Site Supervision

    • Oversee a crew of restoration technicians during water extraction, structural drying, fire/smoke cleanup, demolition, and mold mitigation. 

    • Load and organize appropriate equipment, supplies, and PPE for each job.

    • Ensure job quality, safety, and compliance with timelines and industry protocols.

  • Technical Expertise & Hands-On Work

    • Execute water damage tasks: extraction, dehumidification, drying, moisture monitoring.

    • Perform fire & smoke remediation: soot cleaning, deodorization, content restoration.

    • Utilize restoration tools: extractors, air movers, negative air machines, moisture meters, scrubbers, and related equipment.

  • Documentation & Quality Control

    • Log daily activities, moisture readings, and equipment usage via mobile software (Xactimate, MICA, DocuSketch).

    • Ensure insurance-ready documentation with notes, photos, and customer approvals. 

  • Customer & Insurance Communication

    • Act as liaison with homeowners, adjusters, and project managers—explain processes, progress, next steps.

    • Obtain customer sign-offs and handle service follow-ups.

  • Training & Crew Development

    • Mentor junior or apprentice techs, lead by example, and provide on-the-job and safety training.

    • Promote team culture and professional growth. 

  • Safety & Compliance

    • Enforce OSHA, EPA, and IICRC safety protocols; conduct respirator fit tests.

    • Ensure PPE use, vehicle and equipment maintenance, and safe work environments. 

  • Emergency Response & Flexibility

    • Participate in on-call rotations; respond promptly to after-hours and emergency losses.


? Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 2–3 years leading water, fire, mold, or related restoration projects.

  • Certifications: IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) required, Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT) required; ASD, AMRT, CPT preferred.

  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled with extraction/drying equipment, moisture meters, and mobile documentation software.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent communicator, problem-solver, coach, and customer-oriented.

  • Physical & Other Requirements:

    • Valid driver’s license and clean record

    • Able to lift up to 50–70?lb; work in confined spaces and wear respirators for extended periods..

    • Willingness for variable schedules, weekend/on-call work

  • Pay Range: $21–24/hr depending on location, company, and certifications.
