Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The Ideal Candidate will have:
-Bachelor's in business administration, public administration or related field, preferred, but not required. This requirement may be substituted for experience, but substitution is solely at the discretion of CHA.
- A minimum of seven years of experience in public and/or assisted housing, with a minimum of five years in leading a major program in a supervisory capacity.
-Knowledge of Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), federal, state, and local government accounting regulations and procedures
-Detailed knowledge of related computer applications including Microsoft Office and Housing Software
-Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service
-Bond ability
-Valid Drivers License
-Eligibility for coverage under Authority fleet auto insurance
Compensation:
Fulltime position, in office- 40 hours/week. Starting salary depending on experience. Health, vison, and dental insurance; deferred compensation contributions; long term disability; life insurance; paid vacation, paid sick leave; paid holidays.
About this position:
Under the general direction of the Executive Director the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) Director is responsible for the administration and efficient operations of Housing Choice Voucher Program and all other related functions which promote the mission of the Conway Housing Authority(CHA).
Essential Duties:
The following represents a summary of the major essential duties of the position; and are not intended to be all-inclusive.
-Responsible for the overall directing and administration of the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP), which includes overseeing initial and on going eligibility, briefing, and lease up processes, inspection management, annual reexaminations, interims, end of participation and program compliance to ensure full compliance with all Section Eight Management Assessment Program (SEMAP) HUD report performance indicators.
-Key responsibilities also involve managing staff, ensuring high-quality program performance, developing strategic plans, coordinating with stakeholders, and maintain positive community and government relations.
-Ability to interpret and implement complex and changing federal policies and regulations.
