Position:Technology Champion (temp until 03/2026 roughly)
Location: Texarkana, AR
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm
Pay: $15/hour, Depending on experience
POSITION SUMMARY: Technology Champion coordinates the agency’s Assistive and Enabling Technology initiative. This includes identifying and assessing supported individuals to determine where technology could promote independence and safety, promoting and advancing technology training and education across the agency, and reporting on data measures. This position directs the activities of members of the Technology Team to ensure that the agency’s technology first approach is implemented in a sustainable manner across all applicable service areas.

- Understanding of innovative technology (e.g. wireless technology, smart devices, Internet of Things (IOT), etc.)
- Interest and ability to expand his/her knowledge on Assistive / Enabling Technology through workshops, trainings, etc.;
- Ability to take the initiative to learn about emerging Assistive / Enabling Technology applications and resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the agency’s Assistive / Enabling Technology initiative.
- Coordinate activities of the Technology Team members, but scheduling and leading meetings.
- Lead organizational changes necessary to foster a technology first mindset and create a sustainable Assistive / Enabling Technology program
- Communicate effectively with and educate families, person(s) supported, stakeholders, direct support professionals, and agency management on Assistive / Enabling Technology.
- Monitor the technology and address any issues by engaging program staff, technology vendors and/or internal information technology (IT) support to resolve.
- Ensure Assistive / Enabling Technology equipment is maintained for optimal use (e.g. properly
- stored, clean, updates completed, equipment is charged, etc.) in accordance with agency
- policies and procedures including HIPAA compliance where applicable. This includes the
- completion of monthly and annual technology checks of installed technology; and Authority and responsibility to serve as the agency’s main contact person for Assistive Enabling Technology and to work collaboratively with external stakeholders (vendors, funders, etc.).
