Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Mechanic Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the mechanics in various tasks related to the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the automotive or machinery repair industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist mechanics with routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment.
- Help in diagnosing mechanical issues and preparing vehicles for service.
- Perform basic tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections under the supervision of experienced mechanics.
- Clean and maintain the shop, ensuring a tidy and organized workspace.
- Clean all vehicles as needed, ensuring they are presentable.
- Transport vehicles from one location to another as directed by mechanics or management.
- Keep work areas clean and organized, ensuring that tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
- Assist with inventory management by tracking and replenishing supplies and parts as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe workplace.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in automotive or mechanical work is a plus, but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Must have a valid CDL A or B driver's license with airbrake, passenger, and S endorsement
- Must have acceptable driving record
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must have reliable transportation to the job site.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
