Purchasing Manager
Location: Texarkana
Salary: $60,000/year

Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for a Purchasing Manager in the Texarkana area. This position is responsible for overseeing purchasing operations, maintaining inventory levels, managing vendor relationships, and supporting production by ensuring materials are available when needed.
Key Responsibilities

Purchase and maintain inventory of raw materials such as wood, foam, glue, cardboard, labels, springs, staples, nails, and other production supplies

Conduct frequent inventory audits to ensure accuracy and proper stock levels

Inspect incoming materials for quality and coordinate returns or replacements when needed

Forecast inventory needs based on historical usage and production requirements

Utilize procurement software and purchasing tools to manage purchasing activities

Create and receive purchase orders and authorize invoice payments
-
Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers while sourcing new vendors to maintain competitive pricing

Manage the Receiving, Warehouse, and Supply Clerk

Develop standards and protocols for purchasing processes, including quotes and bid frequency
-
Convert and maintain units of measurement within an MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system
-
Communicate with internal teams to ensure materials are available to support production timelines
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent experience
-
5+ years of direct purchasing or procurement experience
-
Experience with procurement software and MRP systems
-
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
-
Excellent communication, organization, and time management abilities
