Job Full Description

Our client in American Canyon is looking for their next Maintenance Mechanic! The Maintenance Mechanic II plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe functioning of the plant and equipment by maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment. In this dynamic role, the Maintenance Mechanic II diagnoses and corrects malfunctioning electronics, addresses electrical wiring issues, and performs a variety of electrical trade functions in accordance with local and national electrical codes.

The Maintenance Mechanic II also maintains:

  • Equipment, parts, and supplies inventories,
  • Ensuring that inventory levels are adequate, and orders are placed and expedited in a timely manner.
  • Performs preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines,
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions and locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, using precision measuring and testing instruments.

This role requires the ability to adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments, work with single and three-phase AC circuits, 480 voltage, install conduit and wiring, read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics, and utilize all appropriate PPE in the performance of tasks.

The Maintenance Mechanic II also participates in continuous improvement efforts, contributes to a team environment, and assists in equipment installations. 

The successful candidate for this position will have at least 4 years of experience in a related role, equipment maintenance expertise, a strong technical understanding, and the ability to deal well with uncertainty. Attention to detail, flexibility, a strong sense of urgency, and basic safety knowledge are also essential. The Maintenance Mechanic II must have a strong knowledge of PLCs, CAD, pneumatics, hydraulics, and industrial safety for the handling of equipment and machinery. Additionally, the Maintenance Mechanic II must be able to train others on the maintenance team in the execution of basic electrical tasks and following safety protocols when using equipment and machinery. Other duties as assigned.
