Warehouse / Forklift Operator – Moving & Storage 

Position Summary

The Warehouse / Forklift Operator is responsible for safely handling, storing, and moving customer goods within a moving and storage facility. This role ensures efficient warehouse operations by loading and unloading trucks, organizing inventory, and operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
• Load and unload moving trucks, containers, and storage vaults
• Move, stack, and organize furniture and household goods in the warehouse
• Wrap, label, and secure items to prevent damage during storage or transport
• Maintain accurate inventory records and tracking of stored items
• Assist with receiving and staging shipments for outbound delivery
• Perform regular inspections of equipment and report maintenance needs
• Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
• Keep warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards
• Assist team members with moving and handling large or heavy items

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Previous warehouse or moving industry experience preferred
• Experience operating a forklift (certification preferred but not always required)
• Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items (50–100+ lbs.)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
• Basic math and inventory tracking ability
• Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
• Reliable attendance and punctuality

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift certification
• Experience with household goods handling or moving companies
• Knowledge of proper packing, wrapping, and storage techniques
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

• Warehouse and storage facility setting
• Frequent lifting, bending, and standing
• Exposure to varying temperatures (indoor/outdoor conditions)
• May require overtime, weekends, and flexible scheduling
