Position Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining production and packaging equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. The role requires adherence to production standards, safety procedures, quality requirements, and company policies. Machine operators are expected to monitor equipment performance, inspect finished products, troubleshoot minor issues, and maintain accurate production records. Machine operators typically operate machinery, perform routine inspections, adjust machine settings, and maintain product quality throughout the production process. Evening position working 2:00pm-10:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate manufacturing and packaging equipment according to established procedures.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain efficiency and product quality.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and notify maintenance when repairs are required.
- Load raw materials and packaging supplies into equipment as needed
- Follow all safety, GMP, and company operating procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with changeovers and production line setup between jobs.
- Support team goals to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, production, or packaging experience preferred.
- Ability to operate mechanical and automated equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read work instructions, production schedules, and safety documentation.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequently lift, push, pull, or move materials up to company-required weight limits.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
