Production Technician
Position Summary
The Production Technician is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by safely operating production equipment, following established work instructions, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to overall production goals. This role requires attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate manufacturing equipment and production machinery in accordance with established procedures.
- Perform material handling, loading, unloading, and movement of raw materials and finished products.
- Follow work instructions, production schedules, and quality requirements to ensure products meet specifications.
- Inspect materials and finished products for defects or inconsistencies.
- Accurately complete production records, quality documentation, and inventory transactions.
- Monitor equipment performance and report operational issues, defects, or safety concerns.
- Perform basic equipment setup, adjustments, and routine maintenance activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and warehouse teams to support operational goals.
- Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Support inventory control and material management activities as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or industrial environment preferred.
- Ability to read and follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to use hand tools and production-related equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred
- Experience operating industrial machinery or automated equipment.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and documentation.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
- Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand movements.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work in varying manufacturing and warehouse environments.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing and production facility environment.
- Exposure to machinery, moving equipment, noise, and industrial materials.
- May require overtime, weekend work, or shift flexibility based on production needs.
- Requires adherence to all safety, quality, and operational procedures.
