Machine Operator - Vault Department

Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable, safety-minded, and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our Vault Department. In this role, you will be responsible for operating production equipment, maintaining product quality standards, supporting food safety initiatives, and ensuring efficient manufacturing operations. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced food production environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Approach daily work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset by identifying, evaluating, prioritizing, and supporting opportunities that improve safety, quality, efficiency, and overall operational performance.

  • Promote and maintain a strong Safety Culture by adhering to all company safety policies and procedures, identifying potential hazards, and encouraging safe work practices throughout the facility.

  • Maintain excellent attendance, punctuality, and reliability, recognizing these as essential functions of the position.

  • Operate, monitor, and adjust production equipment to ensure products meet established quality, food safety, and production standards.

  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation requirements, and food safety regulations while performing assigned duties.

  • Maintain production efficiency standards while minimizing product loss, waste, and equipment downtime.

  • Verify product specifications, including proper weights, coding, packaging integrity, seal quality, leak detection requirements, and order quantities.

  • Conduct required quality inspections and product evaluations prior to and during production runs to ensure compliance with company standards.

  • Perform routine sanitation procedures and equipment cleaning according to established schedules and food safety guidelines.

  • Monitor and verify product specifications and quality parameters before and throughout production runs.

  • Accurately document production information, including production times, quality checks, downtime, temperatures, equipment performance, and material usage.

  • Troubleshoot minor operational issues and communicate equipment concerns promptly to supervisors and maintenance personnel.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area at all times.

  • Demonstrate professionalism through appropriate dress, personal hygiene, and workplace conduct.

  • Work effectively with Production, Quality, Warehouse, and Maintenance teams to achieve department and company goals.

  • Support inventory control, product handling, storage, and movement activities within the Vault Department as required.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet business needs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic math and recordkeeping skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating machinery in a food manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, or production environment.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety standards.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, and lift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in varying temperature environments.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
