Position Overview
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining forklifts while supporting production and warehouse operations. This role involves transporting raw materials, staging finished goods, managing inventory, and ensuring timely shipment of products to customers.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supply production lines with raw materials needed for daily operations
- Operate propane and/or electric forklifts safely and efficiently
- Print and scan Bills of Lading using computer systems and RF scanners
- Inspect finished products for quality and report any defects
- Transfer finished goods to staging and storage areas
- Load outbound trucks to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements
- Complete all necessary documentation, logs, and system entries accurately
- Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies to supervisors
- Communicate effectively with production, warehouse, and shipping teams
- Rework or remove damaged products from pallets as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience operating propane and/or electric forklifts (single and double forklifts preferred)
- Experience with RF scanners and warehouse management systems preferred
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts based on production needs
- Ability to climb, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds
