Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Injection Molder. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the entire plastics injection molding process, ensuring high-quality production standards, operational efficiency, and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, expertise in plastics molding techniques, and leadership skills to guide a team of operators. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing solutions while maintaining rigorous quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the injection molding team to meet production goals and quality standards
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot plastics injection molding machines, including robotic systems and press brake machines
  • Ensure proper materials handling and fabrication processes are followed for consistent product quality
  • Conduct dimensional measurements and quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow and reduce waste
  • Maintain safety protocols across all operations, including forklift operation and industrial equipment troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot machinery issues and improve processes
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of CNC lathe, CNC machines, and other manufacturing equipment
  • Document production activities accurately and maintain detailed records for quality control purposes
  • Support training initiatives for team members on machine operation, measurement techniques, and safety procedures

Experience

  • Proven experience in plastics injection molding environments 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment effectively
  • Familiarity with quality inspection techniques involving measurement (calipers, micrometers) and dimensional analysis
  • Prior warehouse experience with materials handling and inventory management preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising manufacturing teams within a lean manufacturing setting
  • Basic math skills essential for measurement calculations and process adjustments
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to industrial equipment operation and materials handling
  • Ability to utilize hand tools for fabrication or minor repairs as needed
