Full time Temp to hire
Monday thru Friday - 6am to 2:30pm
$25 to $35hr depending on experience.


Busy manufacturer and installer of custom awnings for both commercial and residential is looking for a Safety Coordinator to join their team in Pacoima.

Summary: Seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to lead and enforce safety practices across our awning manufacturing facility and job sites. This position plays a critical role in reducing risk and ensuring a safe environment for all employees. The Safety Coordinator will regularly drive to job sites to conduct inspections, ensure compliance, and support our field teams.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular safety inspections at active job sites and in the manufacturing facility.
  • Lead toolbox talks and safety briefings with installation and shop crews.
  • Identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and enforce site safety protocols.
  • Maintain safety records, incident reports, and training documentation.
  • Train employees on OSHA safety standards, ladder and lift safety, fall protection, and proper PPE use.
  • Investigate incidents or near-misses, identify root causes, and document corrective actions.
  • Oversee driver safety and equipment transport procedures.
  • Ensure all employees and subcontractors follow company safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with insurance providers, inspectors, and OSHA if required.
  • Travel locally to various job sites as part of routine safety audits and inspections.

 

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in construction or manufacturing safety (awnings or similar trade preferred).
  • Strong understanding of OSHA and CAL/OSHA standards.
  • Comfortable driving to multiple job sites; valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Comfortable working in outdoor and elevated environments (ladders, roofs, aerial lifts).

Required Certifications:

  • First Aid and CPR certification required (or must be obtained within 60 days of hire)
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification required (or must be completed within 60 days of hire; company may assist with training).

Preferred:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Experience in awnings, signage, or exterior installation work.
  • Experience developing and leading safety trainings.
