Shipping Clerk

Burbank, CA

Full time – Temp to hire

Monday thru Friday – 7am to 4pm

$20hr to start

 

Busy engineering firm and FAA Certified Repair Station specializing in the hydraulic component maintenance requirements of airlines, repair stations, OEMs and distributors worldwide is seeking a Shipping Clerk to join their team in Glendale.

 

Summary: In this position, you will be preparing and shipping parts to customers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and process product orders, including receiving deliveries, registering them and distributing packages and letters within the company.
  • Maintain the company stockroom through organizing, cleaning and cataloging items on a regular basis.
  • Schedule large shipments and plan logistics to ensure that there is sufficient storage space for incoming items and staff on hand to manage the shipments.
  • Keep files of goods shipped and received by preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for managers .
  • Handle issues arising in shipping or inventory handling.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental management and systems.
  • Trouble shoot shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them.
  • Place merchandise in a warehouse by packaging, operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large goods
  • Draft and respond to emails accordingly.
  • Scan, copy and file documents in their respective work packages.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be proficient with:

a)       Filing.

b)       MS Office Suite.

c)       Scanning and copying.

d)       Document review of purchase orders/work orders.

  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Customer service experience as we communicate daily with outside vendors and customers.
  • Ability to work independently but as a cohesive member of a team.
  • Ability to read documents and digest the information to draft a tear down report.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to compose emails with proper grammar and spelling to communicate with the corporate office, customers, and internally with managers and customer service representatives.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
