Test Technician
Sun Valley, CA
Full time - Temp to hire
Monday thru Friday - 7am to 3:30pm
$25hr to $33hr depending on experience.
A leading technology manufacturer, specializing in the design, production, and support of cutting-edge biomedical tools including vital signs monitors and patient simulators is looking for dedicated Test Technician to join their team in Sun Valley. Must have PCB experience.
Summary: Test Technician is committed to confidentiality; excellence and accuracy of their calibrations; independence; impartiality; freedom from conflict of interest, bias and prejudice; avoiding involvement in any activities that would diminish confidence in their work in the calibration laboratory.
Responsibilities:
- Perform PCBA, sub-assembly, and final assembly testing in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
- Program, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair biomedical products and related systems.
- Accurately verify and document test results to ensure products meet required specifications.
- Generate and maintain test reports, calibration certificates, RMA documentation, and Device History Files.
- Identify and isolate non-conforming products; halt testing/calibration procedures when necessary.
- Conduct PCB inspections and interpret schematics and board layouts.
- Assist with schematic or board design modifications as needed.
- Troubleshoot product failures and perform effective root cause analysis to implement corrective actions.
- Support Engineering with development, sustaining engineering tasks, fixture development, troubleshooting guides, and process improvements.
- Assist in documenting assembly and test procedures, work instructions, and weekly build documentation.
- Research, evaluate, and test replacement components using datasheets and sample parts.
- Provide technical support for assembly issues, process concerns, and documentation questions.
- Communicate product performance and functionality concerns to management and engineering teams.
- Support Purchasing with component replacement evaluations and recommendations.
- Assist in implementing new equipment, testing methods, and manufacturing processes.
- Perform electrical and mechanical assembly work using solder, adhesives, and fasteners while adhering to production standards.
- Provide professional internal and external customer technical support.
- Troubleshoot customer issues via telephone with the goal of resolving problems remotely whenever possible.
- Generate RMAs and maintain accurate case history documentation.
- Communicate with customers regarding repairs, shipping, invoicing, and payment status.
Qualifications:
- PCB experience required.
- Intermediate understanding of electronics and electronic troubleshooting.
- Ability to read schematics and board layouts.
- Familiarity with measurement and diagnostic equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters.
- Experience performing calibration, testing, and repair of electronic assemblies and systems.
- Strong critical thinking and root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to accurately interpret and record technical test data.
- Basic knowledge of machines, tools, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet production schedules.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
