CNC Mill Machinist / Programmer

Full time - Temp to hire.
Monday thru Friday – 6:30am to 3pm
$30hr to start
Busy production shop specializing in micro abrasive sandblasting equipment and services is looking for a CNC Mill Machinist / Programmer to join their team in Glendale.
Summary: The CNC Mill Machinist / Programmer will be responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling equipment to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, quality-focused, and capable of taking a job from programming and setup through final inspection.
Responsibilities:
- Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines for production runs and one-off components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and machining specifications.
- Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code and/or CAM software.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, workholding, speeds, and feeds for various materials and applications.
- Set tool offsets, work coordinates, and machine parameters.
- Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring equipment.
- Make program and offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and setup issues.
- Optimize machining processes to improve cycle times, tool life, and overall efficiency.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Follow all safety procedures and company quality standards.
- Work closely with engineering and production personnel to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a CNC Mill Machinist and/or CNC Programmer.
- Strong understanding of CNC milling operations and machining principles.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T.
- Proficiency with G-code and CNC program editing.
- Experience with CAM programming is strongly preferred.
- Ability to set up and operate CNC mills independently.
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools, workholding, speeds, feeds, and machining practices.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a production team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience machining small or precision components.
- Experience with tight-tolerance machining.
- Experience working with a variety of metals and engineering materials.
- Experience with multi-axis CNC milling.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
- Experience in a production manufacturing environment.
