CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE/ ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN 

The Customer Service Representative is a contributing member of the Engineering organization and responsible for supporting the service and repair of UVDI products. Serving as a face of the company, the position ensures the best experience for UVDI’s customers through direct interactions with customers and service partners. The representative will answer phone calls and respond to email requests from customers requiring servicing of surface disinfection systems. The Customer Service Representative will work with customers to determine the type and scope of service needed. The candidate will coordinate shipping of service kits and requesting service technician dispatches. Must have strong technical and mechanical aptitude and ability to ask questions, analyze problems, diagnose product failures, and understand specific customer requirements

 

JOB RUNCTIONS 

  • Gathering information from customers about devices in need of service.
  • Guiding customers through prescribed troubleshooting of problems.
  • Collaborating with UVDI Engineering and Sales staff to determine the best service solutions for customers.
  • Determining the warranty status of devices and creating quotations for service calls.
  • teaching customers how to operate devices.
  • Communicating with UVDI’s service partners to schedule and dispatch service technicians.
  • Utilizing UVDI’s database to search for and maintain service records.
  • Following up with customers to acquire and provide information relating to service calls
  • Reviewing and replenishing repair kit contents.
  • Working with UVDI’s Quality Assurance team to resolve customer issues.
  • Communicating effectively with employees and customers in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Working in an empowering environment, and understands and supports the concepts of self-direction and continuous improvement.
  • Performing all activities in compliance with UVDI policies, procedures, and work instructions.

PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION

  • Previous experience as a customer service representative.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree is preferred).
  • At least two years experience working in a corporate or retail environment.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills to ensure positive interactions with customers.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose problems and recommend effective solutions.
  • Highly organized and able to multitask to support multiple customers concurrently.
  • Ability to read and understand operator and maintenance manuals.
  • Clear oral and written communication.
  • Ability to determine the scope of repairs needed based upon information obtained from customers.
  • Able to trade off multiple options for scheduling repairs to ensure that customers experience minimal downtime with their devices.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
