TIG WELDER NEEDED!!!!

Job Summary:

The TIG Welder is responsible for welding aircraft components from materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and magnesium. This position must be able to interpret sketches, blueprints, and schematics and weld to part specifications while adhering to safe operating procedures.

Core Responsibilities

  • Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job
  • Repairs various parts using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.
  • Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage
  • Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded
  • Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. This position may require occasional mandatory overtime with little or no advance notice.

 Required Skills/Abilities

  • Must be able to weld per AWS D17.1.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Must be able to weld components that are vertical, or flat
  • Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work
  • Must be able to see details at close range
  • Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair
  • Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments
  • Must demonstrate comprehension of oral instructions and directives provided, as well as the ability to communicate information and ideas effectively to others
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language, in accordance with the eligibility requirements of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 145.
  • All maintenance and inspection-related positions are required to submit to pre-employment and random DOT drug and alcohol testing, in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 120.
