Material Handler Lead – 1st Shift
Location: Santa Clarita, CA
Pay: $23 - $26hr
Schedule: 1st Shift – 5:00 am Start Time (Monday–Friday)
We’re hiring a Material Handler Lead for our client, a growing manufacturing and distribution company.
Responsibilities:
- Lead material handling team in inbound/outbound operations and internal transfers.
- Assign tasks, oversee loading/unloading, and guide team members on workflow and safety.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials safely.
- Monitor inventory, assist with cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Production, and Inventory teams.
- Inspect shipments for damage or discrepancies.
- Train and mentor team members in warehouse safety and procedures.
- Support workflow improvements and lean initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, GMP, and site safety standards.
- Assist with special projects such as equipment moves and seasonal changes.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler Lead or similar role.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Forklift and pallet jack experience.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards (OSHA, GMP).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
