Manufacturing company in Santa Clarita looking for an Annealer Operator! 

Shift: 2nd shift 2:30 pm-11:00 pm

Pay: $19hr 

Job Summary:
Annealing Operator will work under direct supervision to perform basic annealing operations on metal components as part of the manufacturing process. The operator is responsible for softening metal materials to meet specific hardness and compressive requirements through controlled heating and cooling processes. This role involves operating furnaces, washing and preparing workpieces, and ensuring parts meet quality and production specifications.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to perform basic shop math, including fractions, decimals, and conversions.
  • Proficiency in using basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.) for equipment adjustments and minor maintenance.
  • Skilled in using basic measuring and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and comparators.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, process sheets, and simple engineering drawings or blueprints.
  • Basic computer literacy for recording production data and accessing work orders.
  • Ability to work in a heat-intensive manufacturing environment and follow detailed instructions consistently.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate safely at all times following company safety standards, PPE requirements, and equipment operating procedures.
  • Load and unload metal parts using crane systems, forklifts, and barrel loaders for transfer to conveyor-fed annealing furnaces.
  • Read and interpret production work orders to determine job specifications, including part quantities, temperature settings, cycle times, and conveyor speeds.
  • Set up and operate annealing furnaces by adjusting temperature gauges, controllers, and conveyor speeds according to specifications.
  • Prepare and mix chemical wash or soap solutions used for cleaning parts prior to or following the annealing process.
  • Inspect and test sample parts visually and dimensionally to ensure correct cleaning and annealing results.
  • Maintain accurate part counts before and after processing, verifying against the work order.
  • Ensure process documentation, quality records, and job travelers accompany parts through each stage of production.
  • Maintain an organized and labeled racking/locator system to track work-in-progress inventory.
  • Coordinate with adjacent departments—such as Tapping and Finishing—to align production priorities and schedules.
  • Monitor furnace operation, conveyors, and support equipment, reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Perform basic housekeeping and preventive maintenance to keep the work area clean, safe, and production-ready.
