Job Full Description

Summary:
This position is responsible for managing the recovery and liquidation of assets in a timely and efficient manner, while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will bring strategic insight and operational expertise to minimize losses and improve the performance of asset recovery efforts.

Essential Functions:

  1. Develop and implement policies and procedures for repossession operations, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and internal standards.

  2. Manage and oversee all aspects of the repossession, liquidation, and bankruptcy processes, aiming for the most efficient and favorable outcomes on each account.

  3. Analyze repossession data and trends to identify challenges and areas for improvement.

  4. Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure all collection strategies comply with state and federal laws.

  5. Maintain productive relationships with external vendors, such as towing companies and auction houses, to facilitate asset recovery.

  6. Prepare performance reports and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.

  7. Supervise and support the Bankruptcy Specialist through training, performance management, and ongoing guidance.

  8. Manage accounts requiring legal action, including those involving bankruptcy or complex legal concerns.

  9. Prepare and submit necessary legal documentation, including court filings and motions.

  10. Handle personnel responsibilities for direct reports including interviews, performance reviews, coaching, and disciplinary actions.

  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business or finance strongly preferred.

  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in asset recovery, repossession management, or a related field.

  3. In-depth knowledge of repossession, remarketing, and bankruptcy regulations.

  4. Familiarity with asset recovery systems and software tools.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use (7–8 hours/day).

  • Light lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling of items up to 25 lbs.

  • Occasional walking and bending (up to 1 hour/day).

  • Office setting: desk-based work in a climate-controlled environment with moderate noise levels.
