Summary of Position
The Operations Project Analyst supports the Operations Administrator with detail-oriented, organized, and analytical projects that are critical to efficient and compliant banking operations. This role is responsible for reviewing operational activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, mitigating potential risks, supporting strategic initiatives, maintaining accurate records and documentation, resolving inquiries in a timely manner, and contributing to special projects across the organization.
The role collaborates with departments across the bank to drive project completion, improve processes, assist with audits, and enhance overall operational performance.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
Account Maintenance
- Image all existing bank deposit accounts
- Conduct thorough reviews of accounts during imaging and review prior-day account maintenance for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance
- Verify proper customer identification prior to account maintenance completion
- Review closed accounts
- Review branch marketing materials to ensure accuracy and currency
- Ensure compliance with AML, KYC, and other regulatory requirements
- Identify and escalate potential risks or suspicious activity
- Identify discrepancies and collaborate with branch staff or customers to resolve issues
- Complete monthly operations certifications
Auditing and Compliance
- Perform periodic audits of banking operations to ensure adherence to internal procedures
- Review and update procedures as needed
- Identify compliance gaps, report findings, and recommend corrective actions
- Assist with preparation for internal and external audits, including documentation gathering
- Stay current on regulatory requirements and industry trends
- Perform operational certifications as assigned
Project Management
- Participate in projects focused on improving operational processes and system enhancements
- Support project planning, milestone tracking, and progress monitoring
- Participate in system testing and change management activities
- Complete account adjustments or payments during projects as directed
Other Duties
- Build or assist with workflow design
- Unlock users and reset passwords
- Complete monthly KPI reports
- Assist with facility maintenance
- Process OTEs as directed
- Maintain security binders
- Assist with training initiatives

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in bank operations, compliance, risk management, or a related field
- Strong regulatory knowledge, including AML/CIP regulations and industry guidelines
- High proficiency in new account opening with strong understanding of consumer and business entity documentation requirements
- Familiarity with financial institution software and systems
- Ability to participate in and lead projects
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, SQL, or similar)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
