Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a reputable Property Management Company and manage the day-to-day accounting operations for our property management portfolio of approximately 500 doors, including single-family homes and commercial properties. This role requires strong property management accounting knowledge and hands-on experience with AppFolio.
The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and comfortable handling multiple properties, owners, and accounts while maintaining compliance and clear financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of ~500 residential and commercial units

Process and reconcile transactions using AppFolio

Record rent payments, owner contributions, vendor payments, and security deposits

Prepare and review monthly financial statements for property owners

Perform bank and trust account reconciliations

Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

Track and reconcile operating accounts, reserve accounts, and security deposits

Assist with budget preparation and expense tracking

Coordinate with property managers regarding financial questions and discrepancies

Support year-end reporting and provide documentation for tax preparation and audits

Ensure compliance with trust accounting and property management regulations
Qualifications & Requirements

Required: Hands-on experience with AppFolio

2+ years of bookkeeping experience preferred

Strong understanding of property management accounting principles

Experience managing multiple properties and owner statements

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Ability to manage deadlines and high transaction volumes
