Attorney - Estate Law
Well-established and family-oriented Estate Law firm is looking for an Attorney to join their team. Candidates should be friendly, genuine, motivated, and teachable. The firm enjoys a friendly office atmosphere while working collaboratively to meet our clients' needs. This position is for our Gainesville, Florida office and is not remote.
The firm practices in the areas of estate planning, wills, trusts, probate, trust administration, special needs trusts, elder law, and real estate closings. This position involves substantial client interaction, including leading client meetings and developing personalized planning solutions for a wide range of situations—from straightforward to complex.
Newly licensed or entry-level attorneys will be considered if they have additional relevant education in Estate Planning or substantial coursework in associated areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Meet prospective clients for initial planning and gather all necessary information to make any recommendations to the estate planning or probate process
- Meet with existing clients and review possible changes or upgrades to the estate plan
- Manage Probate and Trust Administration Cases
- Analyze unique client circumstances and appropriately guide and counsel clients
- Draft and review estate planning documents to ensure that plans meet clients' needs and wishes, along with any recommendations made to clients
- Conduct document signing appointments with clients, including notarization of all documents, explaining plans and how they were designed, and answer any questions or address any concerns
- Develop and maintain a robust referral network
- All other projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years' experience in Estate Law/Probate highly preferred. Estate Law coursework will be considered in lieu of direct industry experience.
- State of Florida Bar License
- Excellent Attention to Detail
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and basic Excel
- Willingness/ability to learn and use client management software
- Willingness/ability to quickly learn and understand existing day-to-day operations
- Strong command of the English language and grammar for drafting and proofreading legal documents
- Strong Oral Communication Skills
- Possess strong organizational skills to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
Experienced candidates will start at a salary of $85,000 and will be eligible for 25% of the fees from any self-generated business in addition to their salary. Position comes with paid court holidays, 2 weeks of PTO in the first year, SIMPLE IRA with matching, and the office is generally closed (with pay) between Christmas and New Years. Firm will also pay for Bar dues and all CLE's.
