Painting Production Manager (Residential & Commercial) 50k - 60k plus incentives

Job Summary

The Painting Production Manager oversees all residential and commercial painting projects from start to finish, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to company quality standards. This role manages field crews, schedules projects, coordinates materials and equipment, and serves as a key link between sales, clients, and painting teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and manage multiple residential and commercial painting projects simultaneously

  • Supervise and support field crews, including painters, foremen, and subcontractors

  • Ensure projects are completed according to scope, specifications, timelines, and budgets

  • Conduct jobsite visits to monitor quality, safety, and productivity

  • Ensure proper surface preparation, application techniques, and clean-up standards

  • Address and resolve jobsite issues, change orders, and client concerns promptly

  • Coordinate material ordering, delivery, and equipment availability for each project

  • Enforce safety policies, including proper use of PPE and ladder/scaffold safety

  • Maintain consistent quality standards across all jobs and crews

  • Train and mentor painters and crew leaders to improve skill level and performance

  • Communicate regularly with sales, estimators, and clients regarding project status

  • Manage punch lists, final inspections, and project close-outs

  • Track labor hours, productivity, and job costs to improve efficiency and profitability

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade or construction management education preferred

  • 3–7 years of experience in residential and/or commercial painting, with supervisory experience

  • Strong knowledge of interior and exterior painting, coatings, and surface preparation

  • Experience managing multiple job sites and crews at once

  • Understanding of job costing, scheduling, and basic project management principles

  • Familiarity with OSHA and jobsite safety practices

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
