JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN – SOLAR INDUSTRY
Pay: $30–$40 per hour, depending on experience
Placement Type: Direct hire
Location: Gainesville/Alachua County
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical work on residential and commercial solar installations
- Install conduit, wiring, panels, disconnects, inverters and related equipment
- Read electrical plans, blueprints and project specifications
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical systems
- Ensure work complies with the National Electrical Code
- Supervise apprentices and unlicensed electricians
- Communicate professionally with customers and project personnel
Required Qualifications:
- Journeyman Electrician certification
- Residential, commercial or industrial electrical experience
- Strong working knowledge of the NEC
- Ability to read electrical plans and blueprints
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR
- Ability to work safely on rooftops and at heights
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Willingness to work outdoors and travel occasionally
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment physical
Solar experience is preferred but not required if the candidate has strong electrical experience and is interested in entering the solar industry.
