Manufacturing Team Lead
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of production employees to safely manufacture high-quality products while meeting daily production goals. This role serves as the primary point of contact on the production floor, ensuring employees are trained, processes are followed, and quality standards are maintained. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is committed to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of production associates to achieve daily production targets.
- Assign work and monitor workflow to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Promote and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
- Train new employees on equipment, work instructions, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with company and customer specifications.
- Troubleshoot production issues and work with maintenance and engineering teams to minimize downtime.
- Track production metrics and communicate shift performance to management.
- Ensure accurate completion of production documentation and reports.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment using 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
- Address employee concerns, provide coaching, and participate in performance evaluations when needed.
- Assist with scheduling, staffing, and shift coverage as directed.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality.
- Foster a positive team culture built on accountability, communication, and collaboration.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical education or associate degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read production schedules, work orders, and technical documentation.
- Experience with quality control processes and lean manufacturing principles is preferred.
- Proficient with basic computer applications and manufacturing software.
- Ability to multitask and make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and production equipment.

Schedule
Full-time, Day-Shift Monday through Friday. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on production demands. The lead will typically work between 40 and 55 hours per week.
Pay starts in the 23 - 25/hr range.
