Job Full Description
Express Employment is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused assistant store manager for a pickleball company! Job duties include:
- Assisting with managing the daily store operations, including sales, merchandising, and inventory control
- Providing outstanding customer service by assisting with product recommendations and answering inquiries
- Demonstrating pickleball equipment
- Conducting on-site pickleball demonstrations, assisting customers with paddle selection, and providing basic pickleball training
- Assisting the store manager in fostering relationships with local pickleball players, clubs, and community organizations
- Planning and hosting in-store events, tournaments, and workshops to grow the sport and company’s presence in the local community
- Educating customers on product features, benefits, and best practices for pickleball play
- Supporting the Store Manager in hiring, training, and developing store associates
- Ensuring store cleanliness and compliance with company policies and procedures
- Assisting in executing marketing promotions, events, and community engagement initiatives
- Monitoring and analyzing sales performance and assisting in strategies to drive revenue
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and passion for pickleball is a must!
- Ability to demonstrate gameplay and proper paddle techniques
- 2+ years of retail, customer service, or sales experience
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic proficiency in POS systems and inventory management
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Experience in sports retail, coaching, or fitness instruction is a plus
- Strong understanding of different paddle technologies and their impact on gameplay is a plus
- Previous experience with pickleball product sales and customer education is a plus
Other details:
- Starting annual salary is $45-55K
- Position is temp to hire
- Once hired by the company, eligible for employee discounts and benefits, including health, dental, vision, 401(k)
- Full-time schedule will be within store hours of Monday-Friday 10am-7pm, Saturday 9am-7pm, and Sunday 10am-5pm (store hours are subject to change)
