Job Full Description
Express Employment is seeking a billing clerk and receptionist for a nonprofit organization providing disability services. Job duties include:
- Greeting clients, visitors, and staff in a professional and courteous manner
- Managing visitor logs and issuing visitor badges
- Answering and directing phone calls promptly and professionally
- Coordinating meetings and conference room bookings
- Handling mail and deliveries
- Billing Medicaid and other vendors for services by inputting billing information in a database and initiating electronic transmissions
- Resolving disputed claims by gathering, verifying, and providing information as needed
- Following up on claims
- Reconciling payments received with submitted claim
- Analyzing and following up on payment denials and rebilling when allowable
- Completing statistical reports, statements, and information management updates as directed
- Collecting delinquent payments
- Organizing and updating records when treatment plans are changed
Skills and requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate’s degree in accounting is preferred
- 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or electronic billing experience
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and Microsoft 365 programs
- Desire to learn and grow
- Medicaid billing experience is preferred
Other details:
- Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
- Pay rate is $17-19/hr. DOE
- Position is temp to hire
