Express Employment is looking for a Manual Machinist for one of our clients!
Job Schedule: Monday thru Friday
Pay: $23.00+ an hour depending on experience
Job Summary: As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of manual machines to produce precision parts and components. Utilizing your expertise in machining techniques, you will interpret engineering drawings, select appropriate tools, and ensure the quality and accuracy of the finished products. This role requires a strong understanding of different materials, machining processes, and the ability to troubleshoot and make adjustments as needed.
Key Responsibilities:

Machine Setup: Configure and set up manual machines, including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and other equipment, according to engineering specifications.

Tool Selection: Choose appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials based on job requirements, ensuring efficiency and precision in the machining process.

Reading Blueprints: Interpret and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations and tolerances.

Machining Operations: Perform machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, and grinding to shape, contour, and finish precision parts.

Quality Control: Monitor and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet the required specifications and quality standards, making adjustments as necessary.

Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues with machines or workpieces, implementing corrective actions to maintain optimal performance.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machining processes, tool usage, and job-related information for future reference.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or similar role.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, tools, and materials.
- Ability to work with a variety of metals and alloys.
- Precision and attention to detail in producing high-quality parts.
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and adjust machining processes.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and protocols in a machine shop.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in machining is a plus.
- Previous experience as a Manual Machinist. 2 or more years is a plus!
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials and parts.
- Stamina and physical dexterity to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
