Senior Accountant Opportunity

We are hiring a detail-oriented and professional Senior Accountant to join a respected firm specializing in natural resource consulting, geospatial intelligence, and environmental management. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with strong multi-state payroll, payroll compliance, financial reporting, and U.S. GAAP accounting experience who enjoys working in a collaborative corporate environment supporting critical financial operations.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and experience working with payroll processes, reconciliations, month-end close activities, ERP systems, and cross-functional accounting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Process multi-state payroll accurately and on time
• Prepare payroll-related journal entries, reconciliations, and documentation
• Support payroll compliance, audits, and reporting requirements
• Assist with month-end close activities in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Provide backup support for accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Review and troubleshoot work completed by accounting staff
• Assist with intercompany transactions and cross-functional accounting tasks
• Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements
• Support ERP system use, administration, and testing of financial processes

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Experience with multi-state payroll processing
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred
• Knowledge of project-based billing or payroll systems is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
