Financial Assistant | 8:00AM – 5:00PM | Monday – Friday | $21.00/hr - $23.00/hr
A local government agency is looking for a Financial Assistant. The Financial Assistant serves as the initial point of contact for the organization and provides essential administrative and financial support. This role combines front-desk responsibilities with accounting, payroll, and property management support. This is a long-term position with good benefits.
Job Requirements for Financial Assistant
- Previous experience in reception, accounting, and administrative roles
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (payables, receivables, deposits)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Familiarity with Sage or similar accounting software is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Job Responsibilities for Financial Assistant
- Answer and route incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail
- Order and manage office supplies
- Review and enter invoices into accounting system
- Process checks on semi-monthly basis
- Prepare and reconcile weekly bank deposits
- Assist in reconciling accounts receivable
- Prepare and assemble board packets
- Update and maintain tenant files for residential properties
