Water Restoration Technician | Pay range $22+ Per hour | Sycamore, IL
Experience: 12-24 months preferred 1st shift Monday- Friday | Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Water Restoration Technician with at least 12-24 months of hands-on experience in water damage restoration and structural drying. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in restoring residential and commercial properties that have been affected by water damage, providing excellent service to our clients, and ensuring their properties are safe and secure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform water damage assessment and inspection to identify the scope of damage.
- Utilize advanced equipment such as dehumidifiers, air movers, and moisture meters to dry and restore affected areas.
- Implement water extraction procedures and assist with structural drying techniques.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of contaminated materials, adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain and operate water damage restoration tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and other team members to ensure restoration goals are met.
- Document and report all work completed, including photos and written reports as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work site, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Provide exceptional customer service, explaining the restoration process to clients and addressing their concerns.
Skills Needed:
- Water Damage Restoration: Proven ability to assess and mitigate water damage effectively.
- Structural Drying Techniques: Knowledge of how to use drying methods for different types of materials (wood, drywall, carpets, etc.).
- Dehumidification: Proficiency in using dehumidifiers and air movers to remove excess moisture from affected areas.
- Moisture Detection: Ability to use moisture meters and thermal imaging cameras to detect hidden moisture behind walls, floors, and ceilings.
- Equipment Operation: Comfort with operating industry-standard restoration tools and equipment.
- Safety Protocols: Familiarity with water damage safety procedures and working with potentially hazardous materials.
- Customer Service: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members professionally.
- Problem Solving: Ability to evaluate damage and develop effective solutions to mitigate further issues.
- Physical Stamina: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying equipment.
- Time Management: Efficient at managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.

- Cleaning and Disinfecting Agents for mold and microbial growth control (e.g., Enzymes, Biocides)
