Maintenance Mechanic – 2nd Shift
Location: Belvidere, IL
Shift: 2nd Shift
Industry: Manufacturing / Industrial Maintenance
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our 2nd shift team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous operation of manufacturing equipment by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and mechanical/electrical repairs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and a strong commitment to safety, equipment uptime, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and repair production and facility equipment to support manufacturing operations.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide variety of mechanical and electrical systems.

Troubleshoot and repair electrical components including motors, control panels, and wiring.

Operate and maintain machine shop tools including mills, lathes, welders, grinders, and saws.

Fabricate, rebuild, design, and install machine parts as needed.

Perform mechanical installation and troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic, and oil lubrication systems.

Maintain and troubleshoot compressed air and drying equipment.

Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.

Construct and wire electrical control panels from schematics.

Accurately document maintenance work and completed repairs.

Identify and request parts and materials needed for job completion.

Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Perform general building and facility maintenance as assigned.

Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
-
High School Diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications a plus.

Minimum 1–2 years of experience in industrial maintenance or mechanical repair in a manufacturing environment.

Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools and diagnostic equipment.

Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems.

Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and controls safely.

Skilled in the safe operation of shop equipment, including welders, mills, lathes, and grinders.

Experience rebuilding equipment to OEM specifications.

Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.

Must be able to become forklift certified.

Comfortable entering data into computerized maintenance systems (CMMS).
Compensation:
- $25.00-$35.00/ hour
