Job Full Description
Bring craftsmanship and precision together as a Journeyman Stone Cutter! This position is responsible for shaping, cutting, and finishing natural limestone to precise specifications for high-quality architectural and landscaping projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with stone fabrication, machining, or related construction or manufacturing work and takes pride in producing durable, aesthetically pleasing finished products.
Job Summary
- Shape, cut, and finish natural limestone according to project specifications
- Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, forklifts, and machining equipment
- Measure and mark stone surfaces using detailed project plans and specifications
- Fabricate custom limestone components through machining and other fabrication techniques
- Assist with the setup and operation of mechanical equipment used in stone fabrication and installation
- Safely handle and move materials throughout the mill site
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and materials handling guidelines
- Work collaboratively with team members to complete stone fabrication projects
Experience Required
- 3+ years of experience strongly preferred
- Proven experience as a Journeyman, Skilled Stone Cutter, or in a similar skilled trade
- Background in stone fabrication, construction, manufacturing, millwork, or a related field
- Experience operating hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and machining equipment
- Experience with forklifts or other materials-handling equipment preferred
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to materials handling, millwork, and assembly processes
- Ability to measure, mark, cut, and shape materials with precision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Ability to safely operate tools, machinery, and equipment
