Position: Plant Accountant – Manufacturing Operations Support

About the Role

We’re partnering with a leading manufacturer to find a sharp, hands-on Plant Accountant who thrives in a production-driven environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys blending financial analysis with operational insight—someone who’s just as comfortable on the shop floor as they are behind a spreadsheet.

You’ll serve as the finance lead for the plant, supporting leadership with cost analysis, budgeting, and performance reviews. This is not a siloed office role—it’s embedded in the heartbeat of the operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and audit financial transactions in alignment with GAAP
  • Reconcile accounts and support monthly/quarterly/year-end close
  • Conduct variance analysis and present findings to management
  • Develop labor and overhead rates for planning and standard costing
  • Assist with reforecasting and annual budget cycles
  • Partner with plant teams to improve financial processes and controls
  • Contribute to policy development and internal audit readiness
  • Occasional travel (up to 10%) to support cross-site initiatives
  • Mentor junior staff and promote financial literacy across departments
  • Champion continuous improvement and safety culture

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Accounting Manufacturing Experience
  • 2+ years of accounting experience; manufacturing exposure preferred
  • Strong tenure history—someone who builds roots, not just resumes
  • Willingness to engage with operations and get involved on the floor
  • Self-starter with a proactive mindset and ability to work independently
  • Comfortable pushing back and leading financial conversations at the plant level
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills
  • Collaborative spirit with coaching ability

Compensation & Perks

  • Salary range: $63,000–$73,000 (flexible based on experience)
  • Annual bonus target: up to 12%
  • 401K: 4% match plus 2% profit sharing (vesting over 3–5 years)
  • Vacation: 2 weeks initially, increases to 3 weeks after 5 years
