Job Full Description
Our client in Cedar Rapids, IA is looking for a 2nd Shift Painter/Powder Coater (Finishing Technician)!
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply paint or powder coating to work pieces using spray guns to protect or decorate surfaces.
- Inspect finished surfaces for defects and touch up as needed to meet specifications.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment, and ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
- Prepare surfaces for coating by cleaning with solvents, brushes, or other tools.
- Follow job orders, processing charts, and NADCAP specifications to complete finishing processes accurately.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with inventory control of paint, coatings, and supplies.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Entry-level position – minimal previous experience required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to determine color accuracy.
- Comfortable working with protective gear including respirators and air-conditioned suits.
- Basic math, reading comprehension, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with quality control, operation monitoring, and equipment handling a plus.
Hours:
- Monday – Friday
- 3pm – 11:30pm
