Our client in Independence, IA is looking for a Press Operator!
Position Summary: Express Employment is partnering with a respected leader in precision metal fabrication, to hire a Press Operator for their Independence facility. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced production environment. You’ll be responsible for operating press machines, performing quality checks, and ensuring production standards are met safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload parts/fixtures into press machines
- change tooling inserts and make necessary tooling offset adjustments
- Maintain proper fluid levels and perform basic machine maintenance
- Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to inspect parts
- Follow detailed work instructions and complete quality checks as required
- Keep work area clean and organized, following all safety protocols
Qualifications:
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic are a must
- Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and follow verbal/written instructions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience is a plus
Hours:
- Monday – Friday
- 7am – 3:30pm
