Our client in Cedar Rapids, IA is looking for a Rental Associate / Rental Coordinator!
Position Summary: The Rental Associate / Rental Coordinator supports daily equipment rental operations by assisting customers, coordinating delivery and pickup schedules, and ensuring equipment availability for jobsite needs. This role requires strong communication skills, knowledge of construction equipment or jobsite operations, and the ability to problem solve when schedules or equipment needs change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and maintain equipment delivery and pickup schedules for drivers and rental staff
- Assist customers in selecting the appropriate equipment for their jobsite needs
- Communicate with customers via phone, email, and in person
- Track equipment maintenance and service needs
- Assist with parts and supplies requests as needed
- Read and reference equipment manuals to support troubleshooting and customer questions
- Maintain organized rental records and scheduling systems
- Provide direction to drivers and in-house rental personnel as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous construction equipment or jobsite experience preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet
- Mechanical aptitude or general knowledge of engines and equipment parts is a plus
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds
- Valid driver’s license required
- Class A CDL preferred (+$2/hour)
Hours:
- Monday – Friday
- 6:45am – 5:15pm (1 hour lunch)
- 40 – 50 hours per week
- Closed Saturday’s and Sunday’s
Pay:
- $22/hour
- +$2/hour with active Class A CDL
- 30-day review to evaluate job fit
- 90-day review with potential for direct hire/buy out
