Job Full Description
Our client in Cedar Rapids is looking for a MIG Welder!!
General Duties:
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
- Identify and weld components such as beams, angle, c channel and tube
- Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors.
- Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
- Material handling, ability to lift 50lbs, operate forklift, and use of overhead crane.
Requirements:
- A valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution or 1 year welding experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of welding, equipment, and manual tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Must be able to read and interpret 1/16 scale tape measure
- Must be able to pass AWSD 1.1 weld classification. (done in house)
- Have basic computer skills
- Ability or aptitude to learn
- Strong adherence to attendance policy
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
Hours:
- Monday – Friday
- 6am – 4:30pm
- Mandatory Overtime Every other Saturday from 6am – 12pm
