Job Full Description
Our client is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Terminal Operator to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will operate terminal equipment, load and unload bulk trucks and rail cars, and perform routine maintenance, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for employees and customers.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Conduct pre-shift safety inspections and complete reports.
- Load and unload bulk cement via trucks and rail cars.
- Operate and adjust air slides, rail switches, and terminal equipment.
- Accurately complete materials management reports (BOL) using computers and paper forms.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on terminal equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and perform grounds maintenance at the terminal.
- Collaborate with terminal manager, operators, customers, and vendors.
- Follow all safety regulations including lockout/tagout and confined space procedures.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on work experience.
- At least 1 year of recent relevant experience preferred.
- Successful completion of Work Keys or equivalent aptitude testing (Applied Technology, Applied Mathematics, Locating Information, Reading for Information).
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Basic clerical and reporting skills; neat and accurate.
- Knowledge of safety practices and regulations (lockout/tagout, confined space entry, etc.).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
