Our client is seeking an Electronic Repair Technician! 

Position Summary:

The Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and testing electronic locating and tracking equipment used in underground utility and HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) operations. This role ensures all customer and internal equipment is restored to full functionality with a high standard of quality, accuracy, and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair locating transmitters, receivers, and accessories.
  • Perform functional and quality control testing on repaired units.
  • Document all repair work, parts usage, and test results in the company’s service database.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of repair parts and request replenishment when needed.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify recurring product issues or design improvements.
  • Communicate repair status and findings with internal teams or customers as needed.
  • Follow ESD and safety protocols for handling and testing electronic components.
  • Support warranty and non-warranty service operations per company standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of repair procedures and service turnaround times.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in electronics repair, troubleshooting, or diagnostics.
  • Strong understanding of circuit boards, soldering, and electrical testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and test documentation.
  • Attention to detail with strong documentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, fast-paced team.
