Job Full Description
We are seeking a switchboard electrician. The Switchboard Electrician plays a key role in the manufacturing and assembly operations at Electrical Power Products, Inc. This position supports production by performing a wide range of electrical assembly tasks and may fulfill duties typically associated with both Utility and Journeyman roles, along with other assigned responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings.
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Perform multiple methods of panel wiring, including but not limited to bunch, bundle, gutter, and form wiring.
- Mount and connect electrical instruments using sketches, prints, wiring diagrams, or schematics.
- Install various styles of identification and nameplates.
- Actively review work for potential errors or inconsistencies at any stage, including prints and schematics, and report concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Effective communication skills with good organizational habits.
- Ability to accurately read and use measuring tools such as tape measures.
- Hands-on experience with common hand and power tools.
- Willingness to assist team members and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to consistently communicate verbally and visually, including near and far vision and depth perception.
- Regular physical activity including standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and manual handling.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently.
- Ability to lift heavier items (50–100 pounds) with assistance as needed.
- Work environment may include exposure to loud noises, drilling, cutting, impact sounds, and typical manufacturing-related hazards.
