Job Full Description
A growing manufacturing company in Dyersville is seeking a detail-oriented Laser Operator to join their team. This individual will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating laser machines to cut/form/fold materials to precise specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program and operate laser machines, adjusting speed, feed, and path of cut for optimal results
- Measure and position materials accurately according to job specifications and ERP instructions
- Select and prepare materials as outlined in manufacturing orders
- Record run times, material usage, and scrap in the M3 ERP system
- Conduct quality checks to ensure final products meet required standards
- Operate overhead/jib cranes and forklifts to move raw materials and finished goods
- Minimize material waste through efficient setup and utilization
- Maintain equipment in clean, safe, and operational condition
- Report discrepancies in machine performance or material to management immediately
- Log job start and finish times accurately in the system
- Keep work area clean and comply with safety procedures and company policies
- Properly use and store tools and equipment
- Perform additional tasks and support other departments as needed
Requirements:
- Previous experience operating laser or CNC machinery preferred
- Familiarity with ERP systems (M3 experience is a plus)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders
- Forklift and crane operation experience preferred
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
